Neuropsychological Testing
Some of the clients at our drug treatment center will benefit from neuropsychological testing. Years of alcohol and/or drug abuse can cause brain damage sufficient to impair some cognitive functions and this type of testing can help show where the deficiencies. From there we are able to focus on therapies to improve, if not outright restore cognitive functions.
The neuropsychological testing process involves two days of testing and a third day of consultation. Clients receive a complete report with recommendations for follow up treatment. A licensed clinical psychologist performs the test.
Since neuropsychological testing is done for only those clients whom our psychologist suspects may have impairments, we do not include the testing as part of our fees. We always consult with the client and his family prior to scheduling testing.
